Steps of the process

– An insurance company is paying for my repairs, how should I proceed?
1st step is to establish a claim with the company that will be paying for the loss (this step must be done by the vehicle owner). If someone else’s insurance company will be paying your claim, it is extremely important to ensure that they have accepted liability for the loss (Have they agreed to pay for your damages).
Next step is to determine how that insurance company would like to get the damage assessed. Each insurance company handles this step completely different. Some will schedule you an appointment to meet with an appraiser that works for that insurance company, others will hire an independent appraiser, others will assign a shop to do the appraisal, … Whitemarsh Collision will honor any insurance companies estimate and will work directly with that company on any changes or additions that may be required.
Once you have the insurance appraisal, it is best to get a copy to the shop prior to your repair appointment date so that the shop may order parts and plan their schedule accordingly. You may email or fax estimates and call or email to schedule your repair appointment.
If your vehicle is not safe to drive:
– In these cases it is normally best to have the vehicle towed. If an insurance company is paying for your loss, they will also cover a tow as long as the tow is justified (unsafe to drive). Insurance companies will often arrange the tow for you. If you don’t have a tower, we recommend EVB Towing at 610-828-6522 http://www.evbtowing.com/. We would be happy to assist/consult in these matters, just call to discuss details.
